North Atlantic Fiddle Convention Calls for Volunteers to Help Deliver Landmark 2026 Festival

Organisers of the 2026 North Atlantic Fiddle Convention (NAFCo) are calling for volunteers to help support one of Scotland’s major cultural celebrations when the internationally recognised festival returns to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire from 24-28 June 2026.

The festival, which celebrates the musical traditions and cultural connections of the North Atlantic region, is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist before, during and after the five-day event.

Volunteer roles will include helping staff with event preparation and set-up, distributing leaflets and signage, providing information to artists and visitors, and supporting front of house and stewarding duties at venues across the festival programme.

Organisers stress that no previous experience or musical ability is required, with the festival simply looking for organised, committed and friendly individuals keen to get involved.

Iain Barraclough, Lead Volunteer Coordinator forNAFCo2026, said, “Volunteers are absolutely essential to the success of NAFCo and play a huge part in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for audiences, artists and visitors alike. We’re looking for enthusiastic people who want to get involved, meet new people and be part of a truly special international festival celebrating music, culture and community.

“You don’t need any special musical background or previous experience, just a willingness to help and be part of the team. Whether someone can offer a few hours, a full day or more regular support in the lead-up to the festival, every contribution makes a real difference.”

In return, volunteers will have the opportunity to develop skills, gain valuable experience, meet like-minded people and enjoy the atmosphere of the festival, including a range of free pop-up performances taking place throughout the week.Volunteers must be aged 18 or over by June 2026.

The convention marks the 25th anniversary of NAFCo and will showcase performers from across Scotland, the UK and the wider North Atlantic region.

Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to complete the online volunteer form via the NAFCo website at www.northatlanticfiddle.com

Training and scheduling information will be shared with volunteers closer to the event, and flexibility will be offered around individual availability and existing festival plans.
