NAFCo at ABERDEEN FOLK CLUB features the Rheingans Sisters, with Kate in the Kettle String Trio, plus students from The Irish World Academy of Music.

The Rheingans, Sheffield fiddle-singers and multi-instrumentalists, Rowan and Anna make bold, playful and innovative contemporary music anchored in folk traditions. Musical landscapes shape new songs, while instrumentals draw from the well of knowledge passed down through generations. Winners: 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award 'Best Original Track'

Kate in the Kettle String Trio encompasses a wide range of traditional styles, which Kate Young has gathered over the years of her learning and musical experiences, and distilled into uniquely crafted instrumental arrangements and new songs, with Scottish folk music traditions at its heart.

The NAFCo Blue Lamp Soirées showcase of some of NAFCo’s finest musicians in one of Aberdeen’s legendary traditional, folk and acoustic music venues. Cabaret-style seating and candles set the ambience for an intimate evening of fabulous performances and musical exploration.
